SHROUD EATER, ORBWEAVER, IRATA and BITTER RESOLVE
Crushing swamp sludge / deranged psychedelic death metal / progressive heaviness / stoner space psych
Formed in Miami, Florida in 2009, Shroud Eater is a brooding three-piece juggernaut blending sludge, doom and stoner metal riffs with gruff howls and intense tribal drumming. Drawing comparisons to High On Fire and Kylesa, Shroud Eater have established themselves as a ferocious live act with a uniquely refreshing take on the stoner/sludge/doom metal genre. 2013 finds this power-trio releasing their highly acclaimed EP "Dead Ends" via their own cassette label Primitive Violence Records & Visual and on CD via The Path Less Traveled Records.
With a slew of live performances and select tour dates in support of the new release, Shroud Eater sets out to stun, hypnotize and unleash their primal fury with witchy incantations and walls mud-slinging riffs to the horrified delight of anyone brave enough to withstand it. www.facebook.com/shroudeater www.shroudeater.bandcamp.com www.shroudeaterrocks.com with special guests... ORBWEAVER’s tones spiral through the realms of psychedelia, noise, and a warped interpretation of death metal. Fluctuating between these erratic, trance-like elements, the foursome produce an eclectic sonic ruckus reminiscent of a Zappa-esque brand of controlled chaos. “Deranged, psychedelic death metal hurdling through space at speeds that make The Millennium Falcon look like your little sister’s moped.” - Orlandooom.com www.facebook.com/Orbweaver.Official www.orbweaverband.com orbweaver-official.bandcamp.com IRATA - Modern heavy bands stay interesting not by hashing and rehashing familiar tropes, but by throwing curveballs. Greensboro, NC’s Irata is such a band. While the tricky riffing and circular phrases suggest mathy post-rock a la Don Caballero, there’s also hard rock and 90s alt-radio accessibility – replete with impassioned Perry Farrell-reminiscent vocal howls. This isn't metal and this isn't traditional rock. Rather, it’s a hybrid that borrows standout elements from both. www.reverbnation.com/irata www.facebook.com/pages/Irata/203560296329876 BITTER RESOLVE - Chapel Hill trio w/ an appropriate balance of heavy metal heft and psychedelic space. bitterresolve.com www.facebook.com/bitterresolve
